Metaflow vibratory feeders employ unbalanced motors as drives. The motor speeds range from 750 to 3000 rpm selected depending upon the job at hand.These drive motors are sturdy induction motors having IP55 enclosure and can be supplied with fire proof rating when service conditions demand.

Purpose

Principle of Operation

  • Vibratory Feeders work on the principle of material conveying by rectilinear acceleration of the trough that is transferred to the conveyed material.
  • Conveyed material progresses in hopping motion on surface of the trough/tube although due to high frequency it appears to be sliding on the trough.
  • Rectilinear acceleration is generated by a pair of unbalanced weight motors that rotate in opposite directions.
  • In addition to throughput required, material properties like bulk density, particle size & distribution, particle shape, moisture content, abrasiveness, friability are influencing factors in design of trough and selection of motor vibrators as well as angle of throw.

  • Metaflow selected vibrators are sturdy induction motors having IP55 enclosure. The frequencies range from 750 to 3000 rpm selected depending upon the job at hand. Throughput may be adjusted to some extent by varying vibration amplitude that is accomplished in machine stationary condition by adjusting unbalance rotating weights.
  • Material of contact with conveyed material can be selected as per conveying process requirement e.g Carbon Steel, SS-304, SS304L, SS-316, SS316L and units in Carbon Steel having special lining for wear resistance. Structural materials are normally carbon steels.
  • Vibration isolators are normally high grade spring steel helical compression springs. Special rubber mounts can be supplied in duties where free oscillations at stops need to be restricted.
  • Special features like static/vibrating dust covers, inlet/outlet spouts connected with air lock , special linings can be incorporated.
  • Specially shaped trough geometries for duties like material spreading/distribution, feeding evenly onto a conveyor at right angles, scatter canopies and scatter plates etc can be incorporated.
  • Special duties like reversible tube/trough conveyor can be designed and supplied for reversing the direction of flow e.g. in a centrally charged tube/trough can feed two bins alternately by reversing feeding direction.
